This sound effect can be found on The General Series 6000 Sound Effects Library, which was made by Sound Ideas. An identical copy of it, FIREWORKS - FIREWORKS BEING SET OFF, can be found on The Mix I Broadcast Music Library. It is the same sound as FIREWORKS - SEQUENCE OF FIREWORKS, SPUTTERING, EXPLOSION, which comes after the one done here and FIREWORKS - WHISTLING, SCREAMING, SIZZLING, EXPLOSION, which is like the one done here, but without the pops. This also sounds very similar to Disney Fireworks (1961-2010)/Freesound, S18-18 Whistling rockets.wav since they share plenty of similarities.

First comes the sounds as shells and bottle rockets fly to the sky. We are typically greeted with three typical sounds: booms, crackles, and whistles.

How do you make fireworks explode? ›

Why do fireworks make sound after they explode? ›

Fireworks generate three very noticeable forms of energy: a tremendous release of sound, bright light, and heat. The tremendous booms heard at ground level are the result of the rapid release of energy into the air, causing the air to expand faster than the speed of sound. This produces a shock wave, a sonic boom.

What are the two steps that occur when exploding fireworks? ›

The explosion of a firework happens in two steps: The aerial shell is shot into the air, and then it explodes in the air, many feet above the ground. To propel the aerial shell into the air, the shell is placed inside a tube, called a mortar, which is often partially buried in sand or dirt.

The shell is filled with small pellets, known as stars. Once the firework reaches a certain height, a second fuse, sometimes called the timed fuse, ignites and activates the burst charge. This sets off the stars within the firework, which explode into a dazzling display of colours, sounds and other effects.

How do you make a firework star explode? ›

Fireworks - combine a firework star with gunpowder and paper. Place your firework on the ground and it'll shoot up and explode in the colour of the dye you put in it. Simple enough. Note that you can add more gunpowder - up to three - to make the rocket fly higher before it explodes.

When a fireworks explodes, do you see it or hear it first? ›

Explanation: When watching fireworks, you see the explosion before you hear the sound because the speed of sound is slower than the speed of light. Light waves reach your eyes almost instantaneously compared to sound waves, which travel to your ears at a much slower speed.

What makes fireworks scream? ›

Slow reacting chemicals are behind the vibrating sound effects. So, whistles and warbling sounds are due to the chemicals reacting slower to the heat. On the other hand, fast reacting chemicals instantly go from a solid to a gas, creating an explosive effect.

What are the three types of noise makers used in fireworks? ›

What we have is three different types of noise, a screecher, a whistle and a bang. The whistle is just a little bit of composition in the bottom of a tube made from potassium benzoate or potassium salicylate and it oscillates when it burns and produces a wave in the tube, just like an organ pipe.

Cakes consist of a group of fireworks that can be set off in succession, allowing for a totally customised mini display in one small package. They generally consist of Rockets, Roman Candles or a mix of both.

What makes the crackle sound in fireworks? ›

Crackle fireworks are typically composed of small pellets or spheres containing specialized compositions designed to produce the crackling effect. These compositions often include a mixture of metallic salts and compounds, which react with heat to produce the characteristic crackling sound and flashes of light.

What makes fireworks sizzle? ›

Incandescence is light produced from heat. In fireworks, reactive metals (aluminum or magnesium) cause a burst of very bright light — sometimes at temperatures over 5000° F! Compounds that are less reactive don't get as hot, resulting in dimmer sparks.
